It’s uneven, not quite round, and has plenty of unintended texture.
It is getting closer to the picture in my head. I’m excited to get it glazed. Fingers crossed it lives through the firings.
I went with a Man O’ War cocktail for last night’s podcast recording.
4 ounces good-quality bourbon or your favorite rye whiskey
2 ounces Cointreau or other orange liqueur
1 ounce sweet vermouth
1 ounce freshly squeezed lemon juice
Brandied cherries or lemon peel for garnish
This recipe makes two cocktails. Everything in a shaker and strained into a rocks glass. The tart/sweet balance is well done. I would have this again.
I got on the bike for the first time in a while. Stella needed some help with a Health Class project, so we caught a few mile on the Virginia Capital Trail. It was an incredible 65-degrees and sunny. In January.
After bikes I had brunch and hangs at Fuzzy Cactus. This is their Mexican Hot Coffee cocktail (mezcal, horchata, black coffee). It was pretty good, but not as good as the breakfast burrito.
Going to make this Hobonichi Weeks notebook fit into my workday.
I’m a sucker for this kind of thing.
I’ve been turning them over a little more frequently lately. Nothing’s really sticking.
We’re back with the first episode of 2020 and first proper episode in a while:
I get to sometimes tag along to the gym on Sunday mornings before it’s officially open.
It’s cold in the winter and hot in the summer and I’m so damn happy to be able to be there.
Monkeying around in Garageband. Trying to get used to the controls so I can justify a move to Logic for podcast production. It’s a stretch, but we’ll see how it shakes.
I ran across a video about Antarctic scientists studying underwater communication between seals that I felt compelled to break up around some beats. It’s all Apple Loops for now. If this sticks (and hey, I’m 1-for-1) maybe I’ll figure out how to program an original beat.
