There’s a 5:30am game that I got into. It’s higher level players so the tennis is good, but holy shit is it early.
I enjoy starting the day with a workout but the early hour blows my day up pretty good.

Sturgil Simpson at the Hampton Coliseum
Big concert week last week, we went down to Hampton and saw Sturgil Simpson on his Why not? tour. I got to see him a few years back when he was touring the Metamodern Sounds album, but that was in a much smaller room. Luckily he translates well to a small arena.
And Hampton Coliseum was a good place to see music. I’d never been before and the sound was great.

6.5 Season Swan Song
With one match left (and I’ve already played so much I may not make it in the lineup), I took my first L of the 6.5 Mixed Combo season this weekend, 5-7, 3-6. I took a nasty bite from the double-fault bug in some inopportune moments in the first set and then we just stunk it up in the 2nd.
Adding insult to injury, the match was on hardcourt so I was starting to get sore before I got back to the house. Playing on clay is so forgiving to these old bones.
Movie Season kicking off again
Saw Conclave this weekend. It’s got a lot of good actors doing a lot of good acting.
We’re going to try to see all of the Best Picture nominees again this year. We only missed one last time, and Conclave is definitely going to be in the mix.
Sudsy
I’ve never been much of a car washer. We don’t have a driveway and the road in front of our house is juuuust too far for the hose to reach.
Today I made a move in the clean car direction. This place has a light show inside so you get a show with your scrubbing.
New Whip
I took a year off from the upgrade cycle last year. Even though I was enrolled in the iPhone upgrade deal, I just never got around to making the upgrade from the 14 to the 15.
I went with the titanium white for the new phone. I am sure I’ve had a white phone before, but I don’t remember which model it would have been.
I like to get the new phones to try out all of the cool photography junk they add. I don’t know how much I’ll have a reason to use the Apple Intelligence features, but I’m willing to try them out.
