Big shouts to Deep Groove for the hookup on a used copy of Sault’s “5” and “7”. These two were out of print for a while, and then when they came back in they were import-priced (like, $45 per) and almost immediately sold out.
I try hard to support local shops for as much as I can manage and sometimes that goodwill is repaid by a heads up on some records I’ve been looking for.
These are great albums, if you haven’t heard them. 5-stars.
7” labels are still a fertile ground for fun.
I loved the packaging and design of this Juicy the Emissary album so much that I had to get a physical copy.
It helps that it bangs.
Excited to have grabbed a copy of this new 7″ from Swami Records, a couple of unreleased tracks from the Night Marchers’ Allez Allez sessions.
You can give the songs a listen on Spotify, too.
None of this is new, but it’s back on Spotify. The first two are some of my fave S3 songs.
Absolute Banger for your Friday.

Today is the release of the Super Deluxe reissue of Prince’s Sign O’ The Times. His music was absolutely foundational to my adolescence and I still get sad when I’m reminded that he’s gone.
This concert is from New Year’s Eve in 1987, at the end of his touring for Sign O’ The Times. I like the movie better, but this is a terrific document of what was.
